Friends Only
This is a Friend's Only journal, so if you want to see my insane rambles (though I don't know why you would) you must friend me and wait until I friend you back. ~Akinari

You're Friended on this account and on [info]harukafics if you'd like to Friend them back. :)

Also, if you like, you can join my [info]soo community. My wife and I upload a lot of stuff for our Friends list there.

Oh!! So sorry for not friending you before! >_< I usually didn't pay attention to these things since I never customized a journal before even with my LiveJournal account that I had before (too lazy, haha). This is the first time I've ever actually decided to make a journal, and I'm still new to InsaneJournal so I'm still trying to figure out all the functions...haha. Just trying to pick out the colors was a pain in the butt...and it still looks bad...ah well, what can you do.

But anyway, yay to my first official mutual friend and the first community that I joined on IJ! :D I decided to actually customize my IJ on a whim, and I can only update in my spare time, but hopefully it'll turn out ok. ^_^;;;

You're doing fine! :) The only thing is that while you've Friended the [info]soo comm, you didn't actually join it yet (you have to click the link at the top that says 'to join this asylum, click here') and then you should be fine. :D

Hmmm....Ok, I'm slightly confused. You know how in LiveJournal whenever you were in a community on the very top on the upper left it said your username and "logout" and links like, "home, post, friends page, Post to this community, Leave this community, Flag this journal?" Is that supposed to show up on an IJ community?? Cause I don't see anything...hmm..... I was only able to join the "soo" community when I went to the user info page and there was a link there.....errr...

http://asylums.insanejournal.com/soo/profile is where you need to go, and right under the big heading that says 'ASYLUM INFORMATION' is the line I mentioned where you can click the link that says 'to join this asylum, click here' :)

Ah, I see. hmm...and....how do I post in this community???? Oh goodness, I'm so technologically inept, it's sad. I don't see any links to post in the community once I'm in the soo community....ack, sorry to bother you with all these random questions....

There are a lot of ways to post there but what I usually do is go to that same page: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/soo/profile and click the icon that looks like a pencil (the second one in.) You'll have to join first, the way I told you. :)

Oh geez, my head hurts. I've been staring through all these IJ FAQ pages and my head is beginning to spin, haha. Thanks for the advice!

Just one more thing and I promise I'll shut up (hopefully...^_^;;;), when I post a new entry into my IJ, there's this option called "Rich Text" which makes it so much easier to write my post since I have no idea how to use HTML. But when I try to go back and edit my entries, that option isn't there anymore...is there a way to bring it back??

I don't use rich text, but to edit entries I go to the profile page (yours would be here): http://akinari.insanejournal.com/profile and find the link that says 'edit entries' (it's different depending on which layout you chose -- mine is on the left sidebar.)

Just wanted to let you know that you're finally a member of the comm! My wife got the notification to approve you, but for some reason, it didn't come to me (that happened with another member, too, I'm not sure why, since I started the darned comm, I should be getting the notifications. XD)

The one important thing about posting is if you do long entries, you'll want to do an lj-cut (and even though you're on ij, it's still used as an lj-cut.

The way to do that is type this:

Put text here, then when done put this:

I hope this shows in the comment and doesn't foul up because of the html.

Yay, I'm a member now! Err, but the thing you wrote to show me how to do the lj-cut thing didn't show up.... ^_^;;;

And do you know anything about what I had asked earlier? When I post a new entry into my IJ, there's this option called "Rich Text" which makes it so much easier to write my post since I have no idea how to use HTML. But when I try to go back and edit my entries, that option isn't there anymore. Is there a way to bring it back?

Yes, I answered that here: http://akinari.insanejournal.com/404.html?thread=2452#t2452

I made another answer when the cut didn't show up. Basically what I said was that the instructions for an lj-cut are up on LJ, and they're the same for IJ, so I'll just direct you here: http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75

I can't think of a way to show other than that because the sample will keep disappearing if I try it. :(
